A family, a vision, a legacy of flavor
1939
A bold idea
In the heart of Asti, Secondo "Pinin" Ercole, the blacksmith's son with big dreams, and his wife Piera turned a simple idea into a culinary revolution. By preserving production surplus vegetables, they made the bounty of the Tanaro Valley available all year round. It is a grassroots revolution: local women prepare the vegetables in their own homes, creating a network of hands and hearts that becomes the soul of Saclà. This was the beginning of a family legacy, bound by a love for the land and its fruits.

1960’s
Pioneering flavor
During the booming '60s, Saclà didn't just follow progress - it invented it. The twist-off jar, pasteurization and pitted olives in the “Olipack” doypack transformed how Italians enjoyed preserved vegetables and antipasti. Major investments in the technologies allowed the company to become a symbol of modernity without losing its soul.
1970’s
Icons of Italian taste
Saclà's olives and pickles danced across television screens with the catchy TV ad jingle, "Olivolì, Olivolà, Olive Saclà!" Families laughed, sang along, and welcomed Saclà into their homes. The Acetelli pickles, with their gentle tang, became a symbol of taste and conviviality, proving that good food could be both playful and unforgettable.

1980’s
From tradition to innovation
The 1980s were a time of culinary imagination. Sauces, pestos, and other products emerged from Saclà's kitchens, combining traditional recipes with inventive touches. Every jar told a story, every flavor sparked a memory, turning simple dinners into moments to savor.

1990’s
Italian flavors go global
The success of our sauces, pestos, and signature products paved the way for international expansion, with Saclà opening subsidiaries in the UK, France, Germany and US. Italian know-how and meticulous care carried the joy of Saclà flavors from Piedmont to tables around the world.

TODAY
The spirit lives on
Today, Saclà still preserves its family legacy. Their leadership ensures innovation while honoring heritage. Saclà's heart extends beyond the family name: every employee, from fields to kitchens, shares this legacy. While the company modernizes its facilities, the family's passion for taste, tradition, and sustainable practices endures, creating new possibilities in taste and business. Deep italian roots, nurtured by dedicated hands, grow something extraordinary.
